The server listing page I’ve been working on is almost done, I’ve still got to add some admin features to it and get the forum integration going but it’s looking good.

There has been some power loss in my area and so the servers have been down for a while.
There’s not much I can do about this but I’m sorry for the amount of downtime.
Hopefully once the snow’s gone so will the power losses, until then I hope for the best.

After a failed attempt to fix the cross-posting glitch that appeared after updating the forum I decided to reinstall it and update it at the same time.
Bad idea.
I’ve now installed, broken and uninstalled the forum five times in a row just to get it to work again. Sorry if your avatars or any other file you’ve uploaded disappeared but that was because of a very freaky PHP/FTP error that made me have to completely empty the folder (which didn’t even work at first)
Anyway, enough about that. The forum’s fixed now, report any bugs if you find them (like not being able to see the forum, that bug is very sneaky)

Some major changes will be made. And we ask you to take it sincerely and try to understand our situation.
At the moment we are far too many admins, so we decided together as a community to change the ranks and demote a few of you out there.
The highest rank will be Admin, as in, remake the almighty rank into Admin and remove the other ranks. This is because of the differences and relationships between admin and visitor on the server. This is no glory hunt, it’s a simple job with a simple name; “admin”.
The rank below Admin will have somewhat of a benefit, but will not be using a time based automated promotion, unlike those below this one: Bronze and Silver will have a time based promotion system, not followed by benefits. Basically even simple guests will be able to god themselves and teleport. But – their commands will only be able to influence themselves, for example; they won’t be able to teleport someone else – only themselves.
So the ranking system that will be installed goes as follows:
Player -> Bronze Player -> Silver Player -> Gold Player -> (manual promotions – equavalent to the Members) Platinum Player -> Admin
The illustration above uses terms not yet static!
Now I know this will follow alot of doubt, but many of us simply don’t have time right now. Things will follow up and hopefully get alot better.

Today we had several hours of downtime, as some of you might have noticed. The reason for the downtime is that both our servers did shutdown unexpectedly. Why they did so is unknown for the moment, but I think that it depended on some sort of power failure. It might even have been someone that unplugged the machines, we don’t know. What we know, is that two server don’t just spontaneously shutdown.
We are now looking for another location for the server, but since we need connection with very good upload speed, and good peering, for a very low price, it will be very hard to find. Professional hosting is not an option, since it cost way to much (we would need at least 30 paying superadmins).

We’re about finished with getting the servers back up to their original status, we hope that the brief downtime didn’t cause you any personal harm.
We’re now hosting three TF2 servers under the name Horhuset, check the forum for more information.
